Special Education Needs (SEN)

Holy Trinity has a specialist Special Educational Needs teacher who is supported by Learning Support Assistants (LSA). This enables children with any kind of difficulty to receive specialist support. It also enables our gifted and talented children to be identified and support with programmes.

LSAs are employed to meet the needs of individual children as required or to assist the class teacher in the support of children with Special Educational Needs.

Holy Trinity has a special needs Policy as required by the 1993 Educations Act. The information contained in the policy is available for parents at school.

Access to the curriculum

Pupils with SEN are provided with a broad and balanced curriculum including the National Curriculum and the Foundation Stage Curriculum. The class teacher or one of the special needs team may provide extra support both within the classroom and separate groups. Children with SEN participate in all aspects of school life and given appropriate support to do so.
