Links with the Local Community
Holy Trinity both supports and is supported by the local community and church in many ways and the children are encouraged to participate in local activities to develop a feeling of pride in their environment. The Christmas Fete, the Church Fete, the carols in Sunningdale and the Sunningdale carnival are annual examples.
The pupils at the school’s Harvest Festival often offer gifts of produce to be shared amongst the elderly. At other times the school supports children abroad. Headteacher reports to the Parish Council strengthen links with the local community.
The school enjoys a strong tradition of excellence in the arts. A regular visitor to school is a local artist, who has broadened the skills in art for all the children. She was a prominent member of the team during our recent creative arts week.
We are developing our music throughout the school and have a variety of peripatetic music teachers who teach violins, guitar, flute, drums and keyboard. Staff teach the recorder. Children are encouraged to play an instrument at our annual music evening in the summer term. A choir has been recently formed and will participate in the LEA choir performance in Reading.
Fund raising for charity plays an important role in the life of the school. A specific charity may be selected for a term or support is given to a number of different causes. Through fund raising children learn about people who are in less fortunate circumstances and they are encourage to take responsibility for organising activities to support an event.
